William D. Harrod is a field ornithologist from Ithaca, New York. He earned a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science and Sustainability from Allegheny College in 2021. He has studied Hooded Warblers in northwestern Pennsylvania, shorebirds on the southern coast of Lake Erie, wintering raptor populations in upstate New York, and conducted avian point counts in southern Oregon.

Ronald L. Mumme is a Professor of Biology at Allegheny College in northwest Pennsylvania, USA. He earned a B.A. in Biology from the University of South Florida in 1975, and a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984. Following post-doctoral research in the Section of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell University and a faculty position at the University of Memphis, he joined the Biology Department at Allegheny in 1990. He is a Fellow of the American Ornithological Society (elected 1990) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (elected 2021).
