Gombobaatar Sundev (nicknamed Gomboo) has been working for the National University of Mongolia for the last three decades. He is one of the best known lecturers, mentors and bird scientists in Mongolia, and has been mentoring most bird researchers and young ornithologists in his country. He has published more than 300 scientific publications with his colleagues and collaborators on birds in Mongolia, including well known books, such as Mongolian RedList of Birds (2011), A Summary Conservation Action Plan for Mongolian Birds (2011), Asian Raptors, volumes 1-2 (2012 and 2018), A Field Guide to the Birds of Mongolia (2019), and Birds of Mongolia, volume1-2 (2021 in press).
