Dispersal and Site Fidelity

The recapture rate of banded individuals was 11% on Margarita Island (Venezuela), based on a six-year study that included six localities and four sampling periods per year (V. Sanz, unpublished data). All recaptures (n = 31) occurred at the same locality were individuals were banded, suggesting some level of site fidelity (V. Sanz, unpublished data).
