Conservation Status

Not globally threatened. BirdLife International assessed it in 2016 as "Least Concern" (29), an assessment JA would agree with, based on recent evidence (see Population Status). BirdLife International note the range (over 20,000 km2), population trend (stable), and estimated population size all support this conclusion. Prior assessments dating back to 1988 also designate it as least concern.
